Stokes Modelling Workshop

What: Seventh Annual Stokes Modelling Workshop For Undergraduate Students
When: 21-24 June 2021
Where: Online, see below

The School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics at NUI Galway is hosting a four-day undergraduate Modelling Workshop. The workshop is organised by the Stokes Cluster for Applied Mathematics and the SIAM Student Chapter

This workshop is aimed at students with a scientific or engineering background, who will take part in team-based modelling of real-world problems, supported with training and small group study sessions provided by lecturers and postgraduate students.

Two webinars will be given this year by Dr.Romina Gaburro from UL Limerick and Dr.Noemi Picco from University of Swansea (UK). Various tutorials will also take place during the workshop.

Previous instances of this workshop took place on the campus of NUI Galway. Due to the spread of COVID-19, just like last year, this year the workshop will take place online, through usual platforms (Zoom, Blackboard, MS Teams).

The workshop is primarily aimed at students in their penultimate year of study, but applications are welcome from all interested undergraduates. The deadline for applications is June 16, 17:00.
