We’re back next week with our next speaker – Dr. Eimear Dolan. Dr. Dolan is a lecturer in Biomedical engineering at NUIG and has recently been included among the ‘visionaries’ in MIT Technology Review’s Innovator Under 35 list. 

About Eimear

• Completed her undergraduate degree and PhD (in the field of orthopedics) at NUIG   
• Completed postdoctoral researcher in Trinity, RCSI and NUIG on European Union (EU) funded translational research programs, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). 
• During her postdoc research, she focused on the development and coupling of medical device systems with smart biomaterials and stem cells for the treatment of myocardial infarction and diabetes. 

Current key research interest: Medical devices, their effect on the host cells and coupling therapies to minimally invasive delivery devices.
